Job Title: Caregiver
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time
Reports To: Director of Care Services
Position Overview: As a caregiver, you will provide high-quality in-home care and support to seniors, helping them maintain their independence and improve their quality of life. You will assist with daily activities, personal care, companionship, and other tasks to ensure the well-being and comfort of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Personal Care Assistance: Help clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other personal hygiene tasks.
• Companionship: Provide social interaction and emotional support, engage in conversation, and participate in activities.
• Medication Reminders: Ensure clients take their medications on time and as prescribed.
• Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals according to clients’ dietary needs and preferences.
• Light Housekeeping: Assist with household chores such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing.
• Mobility Assistance: Help clients move safely around their homes, including transferring from bed to chair and vice versa.
• Transportation: Provide transportation to medical appointments, social activities, and errands as needed.
• Respite Care: Offer temporary relief to primary caregivers by taking over their caregiving duties.
• Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care: Provide specialized care for clients with cognitive impairments, ensuring their safety and comfort.
Qualifications:
• Experience: Previous experience as a caregiver or in a related field is preferred but not required.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in caregiving or related training is a plus.
• Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to follow instructions, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, move, and transfer clients as needed. Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Background Check: Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
• References: Provide professional references from previous employers or clients.
